Your front door can have a remarkable impact on the appearance of your home…

It is therefore a very important decision to get right. We recently transformed a property in Navenby by installing a gorgeous new entrance door from Timber Windows.

How do you go about choosing a new front door?

Whether your home is a country cottage, a Victorian semi, a modern town-house or a converted barn, we have a range of gorgeous doors for you to choose from. But how do you make that all important decision?

5 considerations:

1. Style
Older properties will lend themselves to particular styles and we can work with you to help you decide. We are used to working with listed and period properties as well as modern houses.
2. Material
This often comes down to personal taste and ethical motivations. We can offer a range of timber and timber-alternative doors. Timber doors are more environmentally friendly and often suit a more traditional looking home.
3. Light vs privacy.
The more glass you have the more light you allow in, however this can impact privacy as well as aesthetics. Select from a range of doors and glass types to get the right solution for you.
4. Fixtures and Fittings
A really fun element of choosing your door. Handles, knobs, knockers and more… Do you want a postbox, and if so, whereabouts? We stock a variety of ranges including Samuel Heath for you to browse in our showroom. We’ve put together a useful guide for choosing your knobs and knockers here.
5. Colour
The choice is endless! We have the full selection of Farrow & Ball colours and will help you when you just can’t decide.
