Back in April we hosted a competition to win a brand new timber door. The winners were Leadenham Teahouse and on Friday 13th July we had the pleasure of completing the installation.

As it turned out the new door formed part of extensive refurbishment works being carried out at the Teahouse, following water damage caused by the flash flooding which swept across Lincolnshire in June.

Choosing the door

The first step in the process was for the Teahouse owners, Katie and Kirsty, to visit our showroom in Caythorpe and discuss the options. There is more to choosing a new door than meets the eye. Choices include material, style, finish, colour, ironmongery and more, whilst also bearing in mind the style and time period of the associated property.

After much deliberation with our sales team, and following measurements being taken at the Teahouse, Katie and Kirsty chose a beautiful redwood timber door in French Grey, with an Antique Black door handle and letterbox, perfectly in-keeping with the traditional tearooms.

Handover to the fitting team

With the door chosen, in stepped our fitting team. The old door had been safely removed and the new frame needed to be inserted.

Next came the exciting bit, fitting the lovely new timber door….

The finished installation is the perfect accompaniment to Leadenham Teahouse’s gorgeous traditional look.

Kirsty and Katie were thrilled with their brand new door, and our Chariman, Roy Wakeman OBE, was delighted to have been able to help out a local business at a difficult time. Big smiles all round!

After a brief closure, the restoration works are now almost complete and the door to Leadenham Teahouse reopens for business Monday 23rd July.
